THE JIM KEMMY MEMORIAL TROPHY

This Award commemorates the late Alderman Jim Kemmy TD (Labour), twice Mayor of Limerick, who was one of Ireland’s most notable politicians. A champion of the Arts in Limerick and a great friend to the Limerick Art Society – he never missed a society event! The award was originally conceived as a way of recognising gifted Leaving Certificate students, but the trophy is now awarded under more general terms of reference, in recognition of excellence in art for loyal service and dedication.

Designed and engraved by Paul Grimes, the noted Limerick artist.
